Each member of our staffing team is an essential part of our community of Faith, all whom have made significant contributions to our congregation. They all bring their unique set of skills and expertise.
APPOINTED MINISTER:
Rev. Christopher White
Rev. Christopher joined us for his first official service on February 01, 2026. He came out of retirement because he felt called to return to ministry because of the enormous challenges and anxiety that are now part of our world. He is also a working journalist, who writes primarily for Broadview Magazine who writes about church and the times we live in. He also started a Substack called 'Getting Through This Together', where he share not only his Broadview work, but his thoughts on the church, faith and times in which we find ourselves.
PASTORAL CARE:
Rev. Martha Reynolds
Join us in giving a warm welcome to Rev. Martha Reynolds as our Pastoral Care Minister! She joined us in September 2026 and is working part-time for pastoral care visits and phone calls. Martha has had a life-long connection with the United Church of Canada. Ordained in 2002, she first served in a three-point rural pastoral charge in what was then London Conference. Over the years she has been in ministry with congregations in different areas of southern Ontario. Before retiring, she was the minister of pastoral care at Port Nelson United Church in Burlington. Martha lives in Beamsville, and has three children and two grandchildren. Her interests include music, walking, reading, creative arts, social justice, spending time in nature, and caring for the environment.
OFFICE SECRETARY:
Emily Smith
Emily joined our Faith family in January 2022, taking on the role of office secretary. She is responsible for all communication with our community of Faith, including designing and sharing our weekly e-newsletter Faith Connections, our website and social media pages. She was born and raised in Hamilton, and in previous years has joined us for euchre nights and trivia night! Emily graduated with honours from the Business Administration program at Mohawk College in 2018. Following grad, she worked as a general manager for Pita Pit Canada. She enjoys outdoor adventures, listening to music, spending time at her family's cottage and being in the presence of her loved ones.
MUSIC DIRECTOR
Andrew Poaps
Andrew was welcomed into the Faith United Family as our Music Director on Palm Sunday in 2024. Andrew has over 10 years of experience as Director of Music and Worship arts, serving in various churches throughout the Hamilton and Niagara Region. Andrew studied music at the post-secondary level at McMaster University followed by attending Teacher’s College at Redeemer University in Ancaster. Andrew also serves as an elementary school music teacher with the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board.
